My guess would be to attribute it to the tightness of the jeans. I have the same thing on my pair of Acne Hex, which are quite tight.

i think you're partly right vis a vis the stretch...

the jeans are so slim-fitting, even behind the knees, that there's not enough extra fabric for anything but horizontal creasing when the knees are bent. with a bit of stretch woven into the denim, the jeans can be this tight and still be somewhat comfortable.

They're super tight, stretchy, and straight leg.. Not sure what to compare them to, though.

The tighter the jeans, the tighter the honeycombs are going to be on the backs of the legs. Also, on the fronts of the legs, the chevrons will be more horizontal on tighter fitting jeans. I have really skinny legs attached to a 33" pelvis, so I would have to wear some really skinny leged jeans to get those tight honeycombs.

£100-ish, so around $187 US. I got them for quite a bargain.

Then again, this seasons SSDS will look exactly the same, minus that little flag of Sweden on the inside waistband.
