what is it with women and their lack of love for manly man face steez? last time I had a slightly full beard my gf said I looked like a rodent..

There has been research on the question why the majority of women prefer smooth chests -because they do- and I think it could apply to facial hair as well:

Humans are (almost) the only specimen on earth that have developed the ability to sweat in order to regulate their body temperature. This has made fur redundant. The fact that women prefer smooth men has been explained as their contribution to furthering evolution by natural selection.

it is crap. its the current trend. look at ads these days, you see more body (chest) hair than you did 2, 3, 4 years ago. same goes for facial hair, back in the day beards etc. werent nearly as rare.

But there is a difference between what men like and are proud of themselves and what women think of it.

Ah, here my comparison ends... chest hair isn't in or out of fashion, facial hair is.

I think its all regional preference. You goto the right places and there are women who appreciate a nice beard on a man.

Vancouver is a very beardy city. Though I think that holds for most of Canada. The face gets cold.

If you think Vancouver is beard heavy, try somewhere in Canada where its ACTUALLY cold. Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg (Winterpeg, if you will) Have serious beard-age going on in the winter, seems to lighten throughout the summer months. Anywhere actually in the Rockies has beards everywhere you turn, its part of the mountain culture.
