That's just my experience but i'm usually 43.5/44 and i got 42 suede wallies which are far too big.

I know this has been asked countless times but I never paid much attention because it never applied to me. Regardless...

What is the best method to softening soles? Leaving them in the sun? Oven? I am really hesitant about the oven thing, heck not even sure that it was a serious response when someone posted it.

Any help is appreciated!

the trick to soften soles is as you say

either pop in black bin bag/on the dashboard of a car and leave in sun

or cover sole with foil and place in oven on the lowest heat possible

Many dryers include the option of a removeable rack for laying things on rather than tumble dried. This works a treat for softening vintage Clarks. If your dryer doesn't have a rack, you may be able to purchase one from the manufacturer separately, for example:

between the black and sand, i think the sand color looks the best, but something still looks a little bit off to me about the color and broguing
