Demonito, You bought the Buzz used, right? I think I have the same model. If you do I think it will take on an aged quality very quickly. The Buzz bronco leather is treated with something that gives them an aged look. Mine has changed to a combination of dark brown with elements of black and reds in it. The knit cuffs and waist are the least authentic thing about them. The cuffs are more like a nylon flight jacket and the waist is a little oversize. Still, I love mine. They are very cool jackets.

Yea, the bronco leather is horsehide. There is probably a tag inside on of the flap pockets that says "Italian Bronco Hide". It starts off very dark and then in a matter of months fades down to primarily a deep brown with some areas of light brown and some splotches of the very dark brown will remain. I don't think any of the other A2 manufacturers (Goodwear's getting close) can touch Buzz's leather.

Goodwear has some new horse 2--2 1/2 oz thats the BEST HORSE I've ever seen on a repro. Anyway the most authentic as compared to originals...

I have a Dubow coming soon that will be made from it.

Do the dried out areas feel stiff? To me it just looks like the finish has abraded somewhat on the seams, which is pretty normal in my experience.

was suppose to get my first A2 fromt hem horsehide in seal brown with handpainted aaf insignia on the left arm but after doing a research br was my choice even a 2nd hand one...cause nothing compares to these tier 3 companies as jake would say.. but fj's.com jackets are i think up there with the rest well not on the tier 3 at least...but getting it from them would be a good choice for their price is my opinion..

anyone have any opinions on flightjacket.com's A-2's? I can't remember if I heard about them on here or through a goggle search, but the price, at least, seems good to me. Any opinions on how their hides stack up to other manufacturers?

Flightjacket.com is US Authentic - and they do make nice, though not authentic versions of original jackets. If you are looking for a "bargain" watch Flightsuits sale page (updated every Monday). Gibson and Barnes is their new name, same company. Their prices are cheap compared to Eastman, Aero, Real McCoys, Goodwear etc, but not quite in the same class (and you'd want to size down one or two sizes to get a more vintage fit).
