I want to punch people in the face when they use the word "cop" to describe the act of purchasing an item.

haha... I use it like this too. Could you explain to me - as a non-native speaker - as to why exactly it's ridiculous to use 'to cop' in that context? What are the connotations? That's an honest request! :D

Without getting into the whole sociological aspects of it...

it's very stupid to use spoken street slang when you're writing something online. It doesn't translate. It makes you look like a phony and like you're trying way too hard.

the thing that bugs me is when people sag the shit out of their jeans yet still have it cuffed. i dont cuff my jeans, not a huge fan of the look, so this just seems like its trying too hard.

i was reading a thread today, that the guy was talking about how his mom washed his jeans and he was really upset....umm...don't live with your parents and do your own laundry...issue solved

i remember reading something like that too, but in this case it was his grandpa that cleaned his jeans and ruined his combs and he got worried about killing his denims. but alas this guy isnt allowed to post anymore =(

This has been my position for years. In fact, I think its what pisses me off about the "street" wear kids here the most.
