bischoff started one game the whole time that he was at werder bremen. i think hes just a body to throw into the squad and will probably play the cup matches if at all. gunners are linked with a move for xabi alonso even though he wouldnt be able to play for us in the champions league but he would be just what we need to partner with cesc.

No surprise that Spurs had trouble blending. They literally changed the whole team. Not that it isn't a necessity ;) But Keane and Berba leaving is really 1 step forward 2 steps back.

We're restructuring and that include growing pains.

that wasn't really the problem - the main reason for the result is we had 1 of our first choice back line and we have inadequate cover. at this point i'd rather take zokora as central defender over dawson. i suppose we could have probably used more incisive running from midfield to break down what was in fairness a well organized boro back four. hopefully ramos will sort that part out.

also we were playing at the riverside one of the five fixtures that more than half the seats are full, it's not unusual for them to pull out a result against the top four when it's full.

what really pissed me off is that nobody bothered to scoop the ball out of the net after our goal even though there were still a few minutes to play.

anyway, everybody's going on about replacing all those goals from keane and berbs but if we actually defend like a proper team then we can probably get it done with half as many scored compared to last season.

boro is tough so i'll give you that (they are coming to anfield on sat and i'm not feeling too optimistic) but spurs really didn't show up for this game. you already said everything there is to say about the back 4 but the midfield was also very weak. modric was pushed off the ball all the time. luis garcia had better possession and was not knocked away by other players like that. maybe that was just early nervous game but modric was being schooled not by boro's big defenders but the small shit rejects midfielders. not a good looking game for spurs but it's still very early.

i think berbatov has to be sold by the weekend and if he's not i wouldn't even put him on the bench. he was the biggest muppet on the pitch for whatever short period of time he was pretending to care.

we held the ball fine - you can't really argue with 65% possession. the problem was that modric was playing too far back. i would have liked to have huddlestone in tandem to free up modric to wreak havoc further upfield. but i still liked the fact that modric was always looking to create with intelligent distribution even from a withdrawn position as opposed to the old fashioned hoof and hope that we always seem to do.

btw i can't believe that newcastle want to throw away money on owen to the tune of 140k / wk for the 15 matches he'll play for them over the next three years.

also man city are the next leeds.... hahaha

Are you sure bruv? If only YouTube still allowed you to watch highlights I could show you Zokora not giving a shit about tracking back for that Alves miss.

yeah, i'm sure. i've basically seen every premiership match dawson's played in and have seen his steady decline back to championship calibre. do you honestly think we could have won the league cup with him in the back four? i'm not saying zokora is the dog's but he is more athletic and commits fewer errors in deadball situations, which has been our agamemnon neck of late.

Yeah I agree Dawson cannot be trusted (he got a new contract recently lol), I just couldn't believe Zokora, it was the move when Tuncay run past Modric down the right then nicked the ball over your left-back to Alves through on goal...centrally Zokora was the last man back, but couldn't be bothered to try catch him up. It was also strange the way no Tottenham player grabbed the ball out the net when the O.G. went in.
