Yeah, I saw the pics of it.

I believe omc sent them to me, they are pretty plain tees. The tee is white, and the font color is grey. Front says "italians do it better" in a big all upper case font. And then the back lists all the groups in the same font, smaller size.

Not sure if this is the only color they released it in .. lemme see if I still have the links to the pics somewhere.

Here they are ...

hook me up!

besides you and omc, i think that i've got the divine right to own and wear one...don't i?!?

this tee might come off as kind of gay if people don't know the label...

Haha, yeah I'd say so. I haven't seen them for sale anywhere yet, but I'm sure one of us can get in contact with somebody from the label to get a few.

I'm not sure why that group ICP was left out of the After Dark comp .. did they get down with the label afterwards? The material I've heard from them through their myspace is pretty good.

invisible congas got signed a bit too late to make it onto the after dark comp.

i have mixed feelings about this shirt. ive lived in an italian neighborhood for the

past 11 years, and i am concerned how the guidos will take it.

in any case, matsu****-san, you can order one via the italians do it better blog.

i'll pm you details.

I remain not a fan of the whole "big words on the front of my shirt" thing. I could go for it if they made one that was a Glass Candy joint. Just the order page listed on their site awhile back, yeah? Would've dropped the info here if I had known matsu would have been into it, I personally don't even notice stuff like that anymore (not a big t-shirt guy).

thank you for this and the pm.

i just wanna wear this in japland. wanna show off at the vanity or fashionramone party.

then i can role up to some savvy uber italian eatery and pretend that i am an italo food critic.

Anyone ever do any projection work? I'm working on visuals to accompany a brief performance and I'm wondering what the best way to play them off a laptop would be. I'm basically wondering if anyone knows of any decent VJ software I can run off a laptop.

Graphics / visuals are mostly prepared beforehand so I won't need that much in the way of "live filtering" etc... but I'm breaking each one up into intro / verse / chorus etc... and am looking for a good way to trigger each section individually to keep it more on time if possible.

Let me know if anyone has any suggestions. I might start a thread if necessary.

vj?

yes.

you're running os x correct?

When I play live I use VDMX4 (vidvox.net) I think 5 is out now, I haven't upgraded in a year

It's really great. You really need 2 monitors though and a midi controller.

I have a really hard time using just my laptop and my xone 92 which has a shitty midi out.

then at home I use processing (processing.org). But you're probably not going to be interested in that

been a while since i've been on here, thought i'd stop by to post some stuff.

Villians (along with young americans & guns and bombs) are probably the most promising shit to come out the U.S. in a while as far as dance goes... tho Danger will undoubtedly rule 08. heres their newest mix and a few of their joints... the Thrilla reprise is amazing.

also

my newest mix for the blog, dropped a few weeks ago; i took keagan's and other's comments to heart about the length of my blends, and shortened the tracklist but ramped up the blending n over all cohesiveness. comments are always appreciated (omc/jmatsu/et. al).

tracklist:

1. Klaxons - So Above So Below (JUSTICE Remix)

2. Young Americans - Cold Act Ill

3. Black Lips - Veni Vidi Vici (Diplo Remix) VS. Young Americans - Cold Act Ill (SAVILE Edit)

4. Britney Spears - Outrageous (Felix Cartel Remix)

5. The Automatic - Monster (Karl G Remix)

6. The Black Ghosts - Any Way You Choose To Give It (Playgroup Remix)

7. Partyshank - Penis vs. Vagina (Lies In Disguise Remix)

8. M.I.T.C.H. Ft. Uffie & Feadz - Fais Rentrer Les Euros (Unreleased Audioporno Remix)

9. The Shoes - Knock Out

10. Kap10kurt - Dangerseekers (Rolf Honey Remix)

11. Chris Brown ft. T-Pain & Wale - Kiss Kiss (Uncleared Eli & Grayson Remix) (SAVILE Edit)

love this group played out, but why'd you completely skip most of the M.I.T.C.H. remix? i agree about danger though, although i wish his shit was a little more dancey. it's great to listen to but impossible to play live.

I went to the local spot last night and my friend was djing. a couple of cdj's and a mixer, it was actually somone elses weekly spot and she was just a guest. anyway, i was back there, noticing how bad of a job she was doing, made her play some css (best thing in her cd selection). she wasn't even acknowledging the crowd, just rocking her own shit. i don't know anything about djing, and my music selection is limited to edbanger and diplo-esque stuff / mad decent blog releases, but I knew I could do a better job, so I talked to the person her runs her gig and maybe lined something up in january.

total novice, but I want to get into it. Can anyone reccommend some CHEAP cdj's with a decent tempo adj? I can use her equip, but this is something I would like feel like I could do more than just fade from one song to the next before i rock infront of a bunch of people ( :( )

or did I just make a bad decision?

if all you're using is mp3s you might as well mix mp3s. look at the m-audio torq xponent ($800), the behringer bcd-2000/bcd-3000 ($500?) and the vestax vci-100 ($500, needs a sound card). many people frown on it, but honestly it's exactly the same as cdjs. and my opinion about the whole thing is that as long as the crowd is entertained, the dj is doing a good job.

but djing is about much more than knowing the music and reading the crowd. i wouldn't play a show at a real place within 8 weeks of getting your equipment.

i can't agree more with what prof just said. having spun on vinyl, then cdjs, and now serato. it's all the same. you still need to know how to beatmatch/eq/read the crowd no matter what format you're using. i'd say the best thing to do is be completely open to any suggestion (within reason), and build your own feel. much of dj'ing is having an ear for things and realizing when and where to drop a track... which you (chingon) seem like you've got already. get some tables, and keep refining your skills.

Thanks for your help, I wasn't sure if this was the right thread, but the people posting seemed like the most knowledgeable. I agree, 8 weeks is too soon.

any opinions on an allinone unit like a numark CDmix3 or a gemini CDM-500? I understand they are both lower end, but for something to learn the basics on?

thanks!
