1947 sizing, s/s 2007 season:

For a 32W 32L pair of 1947, dimensions are as follows:

Waist 32, Rise 12, L32, Leg opening 17, Seat 20 1/4, Thighs 20

For comparison, the 1933:

W33 R12 1/2, L31, LO 18 1/2, St 20 1/2 Th 21 1/2

And the 1955:

W35, R12, L31, LO 17, St 20 3/4, Th 21 1/2

I will post the whole chart on my website.... when I have a moment.

How do I know if I'm getting these or not? I have to purchase my 47s from Cultizm (getting them on an exchange), so is it generally known which era 47s they sell?

Planning on getting a pair of 555 1947s once they're in at cultizm. Want a 39" waist when it's all said and done. Is the best bet to get a pair of size 42s and do an initial hot wash to shrink them down from 41" to 39"? I'd go with a size 40, but I'm afraid once they're soaked, they're going to be too small.

Not sure if this helps any, but I just got a pair of the LVC 47's a few weeks back on sale for $80. I went true to size with a 30 waist around and got a 30. Did a ot soak for about 45 mins and the fit beautifully. A perfect slim fit. They have already become my favorite pair of jeans.

Those are probably pretty sized up. I would probably go with a 34 or 36 to get that type of fit.

What size should I get if I want a 31 when all is said and done with shrinking and stretching?

I'll be buying from cultizm or from aero leather and I assume they both sell the lastest batch of 2009 LVCs. Is there anywhere else that sells them?

Any help with sizing is greatly appreciated.

they will shrink one full size.

then it is safe to assume they might stretch one inch.

a 32w will shrink to 30.

and will then stretch out to a 31.

Thanks for the help. I guess that leads me to my next question:

Where's the best place to buy them? Cultizm doesn't have a 32/34 and Aero Leather charges 140 pounds for them shipped to the US which comes out to something like $228. That seems too expensive.

Ebay doesn't even have my size. Where can a brother buy them?

just get a 32/36

the inseam will shrink a lot and its only 2 more inches so just cuff em and be cool about it.

or you could wait till dejan (cultizm) gets a 32/34 in.

i'm guessing your natural inseam is 32?

err...sorry to be a pain in the ass, but i have a boring LVC sizing question. I'm a size 32 in skull 5010, 33 in flathead stf, 31 in sugar cane. What size should I get for LVC 1947 STF?

The guy at LVC in san francisco said that this year the size was different - an inch smaller in the waist or something. It's kinda confusing.

fyi: against the (bad) advice of the guy at LVC, I got a 33 waist (he said i needed 34). after a cold soak, they fit perfectly w/o excess material puffing up around the thighs. top button does up without effort. 34 would have been too big. will try to post a fit pic soon.

I had a pair of 1947's and I sized up only one...bad mistake a 220 dollar mistake .I know this is a crazy method for sizing but ever since the lvc were washed a few times and shrunk up horrendously... I just size up 2 to 3. call me crazy but i think after you start to wash them they just keep shrinking for a while. especially if you use the dryer rather than hang.

These are my 47's that shrunk too much.
