I know it's single speed, doesn't stop me from thinking a slack chain is not very visually appealing. (whereas for a fixed gear it matters a bit more than just visually.)

but either way, the drivetrain is immaculate, so that's what counts.

start with high # grit sandpaper b4 polishing with Simichrome if u really give a shit about super shiny parts...

I would love to go clipless but evidently since those bike shoes run so small I would need a 49 EE. Nobody makes that size.

You're really a 15 wide? Jesus. Lake, Sidi, and Specialized make really big sizes. Not all are the same, either. I usually wear a 11,5 or 12, and Sidi about right at 46. However, Lake and some other brands are 44,5 or 45.

Have a look! Totally worth it. My friend is a 13-13,5, and doesn't even ride Lake's largest size.
