sugar cane arctruate gone

i heard that sugar cane will no longer be able to use it's version of the arctruate stitch - levis says no.

do you think this years with the last of that detail will be more collectable?

None of the others have really tried moving onto the Western market either. Sugarcane has.

!!!!!! I just eBayed a pair of 1947 'Canes that I was using as painting pants to a buyer in Taiwan...probably could've gotten twice as much had I waited until this news broke.

But they aren't bugging any of the other repro companies, at least not yet. Maybe because Sugarcane is the biggest of them all?

Most other repro companies have back pocket stitching that is noticably different than the Levi's arcuate. SC's back pocket stitching looks a lot like the Levi's arcuate.

IMO, it's wack. If Levi's just made proper jeans like they used to they wouldn't have to worry about repro companies biting their shit.

yup. and seems like many japanese magazines don't show the back pockets of many jeans because of this. this is a bit of a touchy issue. if you were nike, will you let other companies imitate your swoosh? at the same time, is the arcuate as important as the swoosh?

If Levis doesn't protect its copyright, it will forfeit that copyright. Levis has no choice but to go after similar arcuates, although it seems like a never-ending battle.
