Thanks. Also what you don't see is another double light switch next to the couch just outside the frame on the left. One of em turns on the same light as one of the newly moved switches on the murked out wall. So it's good that they are furthest away from each other as possible. don't one too many light switches close to each other that work the same light.

Picked up this George Nelson bench a while back. This is just a temporary placement. My place is a mess right now.

painted some walls and finished some dry wall work. need some wall art bad.

painted the whole stair well black too.

I can't quite get a depth perspective on the 45-degree bump on the ceiling. Does it follow the same line through into the hallway? If so, I was thinking it might look nice to carry the black strip through the hall. Just build down a falsie to match that beam/header detail.

Yes the hall way is the same level and I would have to match the beam with a false piece. Not a bad idea. But I like the monolithic look of just that section being black. When I get around to more paint it will be mostly a dull light grey with Mondrian accents.

Right where the kitchen starts there is another minor face I could accent with a color. Most Likly a basic yellow.

The black does look good as it sits. It would be a pain in the ass to dive into more corner beading etc. You might be able to approximate the drop with solid wood, say a perfectly clear length of 2x8. Buzz off one of the edges, rip to width, then sand and prepaint it. Temp it up, grab a beer, and look at it.

After years of living with roommates, gf and I decided to get our own place. It's tiny (only a one bed), but it fits us perfectly. Waiting on 5 pieces of art to come back from the framers, walls are way too bare right now. It's nothing amazing but I'm really happy with it.

Now focusing on getting the bedroom together now that the living room is almost finished (still needs a proper bookshelf).

i really don't understand all the eames chairs hype - sure they're beautiful but they are some of the most uncomfortable chairs i've ever sat in

mine are pretty comfy, but I guess it could be because they're padded. My armchair one is comfy without any padding though

I'll post a full shot of my bedroom once all my art is up, it's my favorite room in the place.

^you find them comfy probably because you're relatively short. i mean i sat in all variations of the chair and none of them made me want to keep sitting. even the fabled loungeing chair or whatever it's called is really uncomfortable, the cushions were hard and you can't even tilt the chair (for a lack of better word) the angle the back part is at is really awkward and made my neck ache

you need to put some kind of carpet under your desk chair or your floor will be ruined really fast
