Difference between One Wash and Raw

Im about to pick up some Guitar Wolfs CDP-555 (fell in love with them after seeing pics on this forum and in lightning mag)... Anyways I can choose between one wash and raw. Im a denim newbie, usually I just buy what I like colorwise etc. But, other than the obvious difference of one is raw, and one is washed, what kind fo things can I expect from the raw compared to the one wash, and vice versa? Is the one wash going to be lighter due to loss of indigo, pre shrunk, feel different, and thats it? Or are there are differences which aren't obvious? Thanks!

Also, if someone can tell me if the ones in this picture are one wash or raw, that would help also.. I think they are one wash

there should be little colour differences between one wash and raw - indigo dye doesn't dislodge quite as easily as that except with abrasion. one wash tends to be softer, since some of the starch is washed out of the denim, but if you're talking japanese brands the denim is often heavyweight so it's pretty stiff anyway. there should be no difference in the fading really, if you wear both heavily enough they will behave like all dyed denim should. you will get some sort of sizing stability, since the denim (you're right) is mostly shrunk in the wash that the manufacturer gives. some of the guys here give the denim another soak anyway. but the consensus has been that one-wash denim is more manageable than raw, since (and this is especially true with unsanforised denim) you take the guesswork of sizing out.

Guitar Wolwes are sanforized so they will not shrink noticeably after wash. Also their denim is on the softer side in a raw state so they are quite confortable to wear raw. Up close their denim texture resemble the one of APC but softer. I would suggest that you size down 1 size from your usual W size.
