can anybody speak to the availability of the 'pattern recognition jackets' on hist. preservation ? I understand that the market demand in japan is stronger etc. and was

wondering if things sell out in the US as well etc etc.

i wonder who makes the black cordo chukkas. i wish mil-mil would do this BR preorder. i was just about to order the pattern recognition from his/pres, too. i suppose it would amount to the same price if i used buying service. whoa-----rambling.

those cordovan chukkas look amazing, was this pre-order strictly for jackets? also, whats the deal with buzz ricksons sizing? ive never seen them go above 44 in jackets and 35 in pants.

hmmm... i suppose the sizing has to do with the japanese market.

it looks like super-rag still has the 2003 pattern recog. ma-1's in 38 and 40L. though it would save me $100, i think i may go through his/pres instead so that i can return easily if i don't get the sizing right.

from what i understand, BR makes a limited quantity each season. and they may or may not continue producing a certain article.

the somewhat cartoony aspect of BR repro jackets kind of turns me off. the taxi driver M1 tank jacket, for example. but i am getting over it.

I'm going to buy a N-1 Navy deck jacket this year. I initially wanted to buy B-15C, but N-1 would be more versatile for me to wear. (Does anyone like N-1 jacket here?)

To be honest, I would like to purchase N-3B, but because real coyote fur is used for around the hood, I a kind of hesitate to buy. Perhaps I should go for United Carr's (budget label of Buzz Rickson's) N-3B, which uses fake nylon fur.....

P.S. do Japan stores / websites ever have sales?

if not, why not? seems to be an unusual cultural difference between Western and Japanese retailing. Every few months in British retailing stock is reduced, (at least nominally) the retailers just wanna get rid of it, and replace it with 'this season', but Rakuten stores etc NEVER seem to reduce anything? ? Why?

Most popular items on the internet go sold out quickly so they wouldn't need to do sales on regular basis.
