when trophy hunting in tokyo for forward japanese fashion design, the anrealage store in harajuku is one of our recommended stops. helmed by creative director kunihiko morinaga, anrealage women's collections are a brilliant fusion of classic with futuristic, in a style all its own. along with its seasonal collections, the decorum of its flagship changes too. next to tweaked classic silhouettes and exuberant colours in smudged photocopy prints, layering - to depict the passing of time - is one of the characteristics of morinaga's highly eclectic a/w 2012 collection which is aptly named time. the anrealage store currently features an interior that once again mimicks the newest collection's theme in detail. there's a sculptural table and chair ensemble, placed on a rug with a matching swirling motif. and guess what? even the light fixtures have been masterfully adapted. location: 2-15-10 jingumae [harajuku].
