do you have a cleaning lady? i dont have a gardener , but a portuguese lady cleans my house. some people enjoy gardening (dolly's mom's garden is ridiculous, sans gardner), but no one enjoys cleaning toilets.

I had what was a "decent' job I hated every moment of. And I quit it to switch to a more exciting appreciative job that I quickly got fired from... straight up icarus-level irony. Now I'm living a life of isolated purgatory, way better than quiet confined desperation but not best.

not quiiiite true...we do have a gardener. she plants the big stuff and occasionally does the more laborious maintenance work.

i dont think not having a cleaning lady/nanny is peasant status though, especially if you don't have a big family or a particularly big house.

The biggest issue is that I have no idea what exactly I want to do. There's no point in quitting a lucrative path (miserable or not) and go to nothing. I'm trying to figure it out. But I'm also realistic. While it would be helpful to know where I want to go, nothing I've made drawing, designing, filming, etc. has been so creative I thought "That's it - that's what I need to do."

Who knows, I might lose my mind and just quit while trying to figure shit out.

not true. sometimes you just need to do something, change something, and you'll find something better. unless you're at an age whrere stopping now would be seriously detrmimental, it won't be the end of the world and you'll find something new (just leave on a high point)

i'm quitting this shit hole and going back to school with no idea what comes after that. just do it.

(i realize i'm not going to "nothing", but slog away a few pays, quit, and figure shit out after that)

Clopek: I thought about that which is why I made that "lose my mind" comment at the end. I'm actually in law school right now with a decent amount of it covered by scholarship so there's incentive to stay. A good graduate degree, not a crazy amount of debt. I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere so even if I quit... what, move to a city, get stuck in a job while I try to figure out what career? I just wish I had a vague idea of what I wanted so I could intern, ask around , etc. to see if it's worthwhile.

I admire you and Masuerte's initiative. Maybe now is the time to start looking at job opportunities and different careers in earnest.

EDIT: Dum, at work, will watch later.

haha...this changes things. finish law school. even if you don't become a lawyer it doesn't hurt to have as many letters behind your name as possible.

everyone respects lawyers or people who have a law degree, so I think if you are almost done you might as well finish it off. The respect will come in handy whichever path you decide to choose.

I used this body wash for the first time today, it was a mint scent. when i put it on myself after a minute I had a nasty surprise. most of my body had the normal minty tingling i was expecting but my balls and nipples felt like they were on fire! probs to much info, sorry guys, I had to tell someone...
