Gortex jackets for winter

Alright, i know this subject has been killed, i read up on all the jacket and gortex threads but got no where

I live in canada, the winters arent as bad as they used to be anymore, and im in the city, but i definitely need a waterproof jacket

i remember one thread with a link to a very nice lime green shell, but i cannot find the thread nor the link

Im in the market for a snorkel-esque jacket, no fur, and in bright colours, preferably with a black option as well

im on a tight budget but i know quality costs so link me up

i love burton jackets. the Ronin collection as at least 2 gore-tex jacket and they look really good and the AK one are also quite stylish, if more traditionnal. if you want to save some more, either buy on the internet or go to the states. with the value of the canadian dollar right now, you're looking at a 100-200$ saving on the jacket.

forgot to mention, Moutain equipment coop has some probably the cheapest jacket. the same, or almost, the same quality as the best jacket, but much cheaper.

Saw a jacket marked down from 600 to 300 because it had a pen mark.

(Understandably, if I'm going to be paying 600 for a jacket, it BETTER not have a penmark!)

Both come in great colors and will serve you right for city life,backpacking etc.

but I would consider a XCR Gore jacket if you are going to use it on the resorts

in winter. If that is the case you have a hell of a lot to choose from.

if you're going for style you can look into the junya watanabe cdg man gore tex jackets- but if you're wearing them in the winter you'll have to buy big and wear layers.
