Shoes that look better with age...

Ye gods! Those are russet service shoes? I'm guessing from the aged uppers / pristine soles that they are deadstock? Absolutely beautiful.

It's for added height for short dudes. Like platform shoes. Guess some fellas are real sensitive about their height. I wonder it it helps them shift gears easier.

I find it harder to shift gears in shoes with a tall sole. Then again, I usually don't have a problem reaching the pedals.

I agree with mdngnd. It's hard enough for me to find a place to put my feet on my bike when I'm riding around, and my soles aren't modified.

I have a pair of Ascot Wolverines, and they have to be the best shoe ever!!!

sneakeraddict, i wish i could! he bought them at a thrift store somewhere in the british countryside. the person who wore them originally had died and i think all the branding has been worn off. i will ask my friend if he can find some kind of indication of what kind of shoe it is.

i think the british companies are the way to go. if anyone has any suggestions for good brit shoe companies, please let me know.

Decided to take the plunge and polish my Alden 405's with black shoe polish to give them a darker hue, as well as take down the contrast of the stitching.
