DDML: Amazing book, nice spot there. I think I might have to revisit that soon, thanks for the reminder.

Those ebay black indies might just be a dyed standard indy? Or have they made black indies in the past?

Incidentally, I was at a (cat-themed) cafe in the Kensington part of Philadelphia and observed several Cat's Paw heels in their boxes lined along the shelf as some sort of decoration. If I had any use for them, I would have procured.

Fishtown, sir.

I go there every morning, and think about SuFu kids drooling over them.

No - it looks like a recondition and dye-job. The white stitching has been dyed, the upper is very worn, and looks to be dyed black-over-brown, while the heels are brand-new OEM. The new style black Indies are supposed to come out in July, with white stitching and clean welts...

Goddamn, I wish people would stop selling their nice aldens in a half size too small for me.......

Eddie: It looks like the first ones you posted are referred to as the forester by unionmade.jp, which are semi dress with a finger pull, leather lining, and what seems to be smoke-jumper leather?

The second ones do look like regular toe SJs

Ed-

Those semi-dress in the picture look to me to be the light brown french calf. They will be leather lined, as mentioned above. Pull loops are avail. on semi dress and add about $12 to the cost of the boots.

Regular toe smokejumpers can be made in the dress brown or black leathers no problem
