they've gotta start matching the heel-counters to the color of the shoe. i know they do for blk/blk and the yucca red dirt etc. but the typical black heel-counter and brown-toned upper just doesn't work.

The hand stitched detailing on all the s/s stuff is insane. Hiroki is really pushing manufacturing further than nearly any other brand. Also his new fascination (obsession) with dyes is creating some interesting and amazing items, such as high water chinos that will fade with age, like denim.

Also, I've never had to pay a customs fee ordering from anywhere on earth? Maybe I'm just lucky?

You will have to check with them... Pre owned stuff is just one off where the current season stuff can be ordered thru the local FILl or FIL in japan
