From what we've been told, the school's been everywhere. It was down on the main campus for a while, it's been a few places downtown, including the place where the Excalibur nightclub now is. Currently it's at the corner of La Salle & Kinzie, taking up a few floors of some regular office building. It's been here for the past 10 years or so.

But yeah, I've heard that it used to have an incredible photography program. I've heard my professor mention those names before. He also mentioned that a lot of the students ended up teaching at other universities. Which makes me worry that my shitty pics will tarnish its good name. But there's no longer a photography program here, just a few classes.

Shitty Pics----No way. Keep shooting your stuff looks good. One of my college professors went to RISD and studied with both Soskind and Callahan. I actually got to meet and talk to Harry becasue of that.

first of all...dunno if there is a thread for questions like that...

anybody got experience with the EF 4,0/24-105 L IS on a 400D

i read a lot of reviews but it's kinda hard to make a decision

some people say it's a perfect "all day" lense and some really recommend to get the EF 2,8/24-70 L instead

any help appreciated!

I have the 24-105. It's a great lens though I tend to use the 17-40 more because I like wide shots.

does the xpan create that natural saturation and contrast on its own, or did you expose/develop the film that way?

i shot with slide film. and had it processed as c41 film so i got negatives instead of positives that you would normally get with slide.

i choose to shoot this b/c just really like the colorshifts/saturation/adds vibrancy to your photo

i do shot regular color film but i dunno just preference on slide rather than regular

thanks for the replies...

thing is i already have canon 28 / 1.8 and the tamron11-18 / 4.5-5.6

so i'm really looking for a decent zoom lense

i'm a bit worried about the f4 at the 24-105....

totallyepic: how good is the IS..is it possible to shot without a tripod in "darker areas?"

EDIT: nevermind...changed my mind

the market place is lined with tourist shops like these. didnt shop much but when i did had to do some pretty rough bargaining, prices were crazy vs what my friend had said they should be, so had to lay down some "sorry no ill see you later"

i dont know, all this photo sharing is really new to me.. i mean ill share a random photo here and there but dont usually share this much, only with family... i really like it, i was wondering if anyone could help me with a blog sort of deal.

So I've thrown together a short photo series entitled In The Kingdom. It came together over the weekend, and NYer's, you'll probably recognize where the images come from.

It's a good 20 photos, so for your convenience I created a Flickr site:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/21950691@N04/show/

some of them did not come out as clear as I'd hoped, and I didn't want to augment with photoshop, so they're as is - tell me what you think.

here are some more shots from over the weekend that I thought were good too - feel free to comment on anything I post, it can only help me to become a better photographer.
