Out of curiosity, what's some of the better film to get for color?

Portra 400 and Fuji 400H are the base (and are ideal) - you'll find different tones along the way and figure out which you like.

Kind of interested in picking up a Leica M8 with prices the way they are now. Does anyone here use one and have thoughts on it?

i have a question for those more knowledgeable than me. ok so say i have two canon ae-1s. both of them have the same 400 iso film in them, but one has a 35-200mm 3.5 zoom lens on it, and the other one has a 50mm 1.8 on it. if i set the aperture on both of the cameras to 5.6, will the shutter speed have to be slower on the ae-1 with the 35-200mm lens on it in order to get the same exposure as the one with the 50mm set at 5.6? i am having this problem with my two ae-1s. i think its because the lens is so long that it needs more light to get the same exposure, even when the zoom is set to 50mm and the aperture is the same.

Thanks Joel, I'm just starting to get into film so I'm back in the learning stages. Also what's a good scanner that doesn't break the bank (<$200)?

As for scanners, not totally sure, the one everyone loves is the V700, but it's around ~$500, I've heard good things about the V500 too tho.

I am using a Plustek OpticFilm 7400, works great. Think the price is around 300$

This thread is so inspiring. Need to get back into photography. I'm going to start digging through my photo archives and post my favorites. I'll do them in a mini-series of sorts. Thanks! Um its been through a few jobs.. The Jamie Chung and Olivia Munn stuff was when I was at a magazine, the 3 6 stuff was for the Key Club and the other stuff was through my current radio station job.

Ah my friend works for an ad agency and she's always at photo shoots and stuff (Richards group) so I figured it was ad but yeah magazine work is fun stuff . That's what I'm doing now.

We were coming from this Art Show where they were serving alcohol and this girl had a bit too much i think. I had my cam on me and she wanted to pose and she pulled out her tits lol. Thats her BF trying to block her haha
