I had an opportunity to shoot around a theatrical stage recently. It was a great learning experience... I need way more practice and I kinda look forward to doing it again. Here's some random pictures.

you have really good composition, fmbh.

does anyone have experience with a tilting lens? i like to take pics of buildings like fmbh's photos, but sometimes the converging lines towards the top of my pics ruins the look.

it's become quite a bad habit.

they have a zebra? isn't that pretty B.A.L.L.A?

In a way. Her uncle played in the NBA for about 10 years so he's got some $$$ to throw around.

They have this too...

hey i'll crosspost this i guess, from digital slr thread..

can someone recommend me a good lens to replace my kit lens [the 18-55].. want something that's sharper, probably like 2.8 or even less.. thinking something like a 17-40, 24-60, etc.. i don't want anything too fancy, like IS doesn't matter to me..

i'm thinking something like 400 and under? i've seen some ones that look ok like sigma 24-60 2.8 for 300...

yea any help greatly appreciated... btw canon mount..

well if your use to the 18-55 focal range the 17-40L is a great upgrade

very sharp in my opinion, but it might be out of your price range a little

My top 3 picks (most to less expensive)

1.)17-40L 17 - 40L review

2.) Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM

3.) Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8

please, canon 17-55 f2.8. will trounce all 3. 17-40 is good, but it requires so much light because of F4.

then again, it really depends on what you're shooting.

photography is the new dunk.
