great day activities going on on the last few pages...

here's what me and my jeans were doing yesterday!...

we went to visit the bundesliga soccer game 1.FC Kaiserslautern vs. VFB Stuttgart...

it was a pretty intense game cuz my club (1.FCK) was down 0:3 after some like 50min. they came back and at the end the score was 3:3...crazy game with a lot of angry people cuz of faulse decisions from the ref.and some nice goals though...

here a vid of the intro and choreography from 1.FCK supporters...

and here are some highlights+goals from the game!

Another day devoted to socializing the pup. A lot of progress. He has gone from being absolutely petrified of me to being a daddy's boy in less then a week. He has yet to bark. Just some iphone photos.

ranon - thoroughly enjoyed your mega update post. Were those LVC raws stored inside the antique display case? If so yes they are the only ones left. And did you see the leather suspenders meant for the 37s? I thought they were really nice.

thanks, truly appreciate it. yes, those LVCs were in the antique display case. they only had 3 pairs left. people must have gone out to grab a few pairs after seeing your awesome fit. the only sizes left were 36 and 38 and are too huge for me.

nope, i didn't see the leather suspenders in the case. there were a couple of boxes but no leather suspenders. you should have gotten them when you saw them!

Glad to hear things are going well with the new pup. I saw the first pictures you posted of him, could tell he needed a lot of love, and had a feeling you'd be just the person to give him the love and attention he deserves.

Here's a picture of the setter, tired, dirty, bloody and hungry after pheasant hunting this past Saturday. Dummy broke point and went after a rooster which I think then put the spurs to him and put a nice gash in his tongue. He came outta the cover looking like Gene Simmons... blood pouring out of his mouth, all over his face and down his front legs. Had a big smile on his face, but could have cared less about what happened, and wanted to go find where that bird went. He's been a handful at times over the first two years, but he's turned into a real lover boy, and a good hunting buddy.

^^What dessert is that? Looks divine! Forgive me as i'm not up on African affairs but it seems there is a huge social divide, i see some pictures where it looks down trodden and others that make me think "hey that's not to bad, we have worse here." Is this the case or am I completely off?

Have a look at the thread - I go into a lot more detail there.

Chocolate tart from a Belgian (I'm pretty sure it's Belgian though I said French in the 3001 thread) bakery.

Yes, there is MASSIVE social and economic divide, and, frankly, I spent most of this weekend on the upper side of that divide. It's a pretty tough concept for those of us who grew up in the American suburbs to see ranges of wealth so incredibly much greater than that which we grow up considering extreme. I remember going to the homes of friends who lived in apartments when I was growing up in Irvine (ugh) and feeling ashamed about how I felt like my family was soooo much wealthier for living in a house. My time in Brazil - a nation at the extreme of financial divide (though significantly less so than in previous decades, courtesy of Lula) - really put it into perspective for me, and Uganda has reinforced it. I could go on for pages on the topic, but I'll leave it with the comment that my perspective on poverty and social divide have evolved and matured immeasurably every time I've visited a new culture (as well as my understanding of economics, politics and anthropology). And it terrifies me that so many world leaders, or potential world leaders (PALIN) have seen so little of the world.

Ah Annabelle - that explains your immaculate taste & the "eye" you have for framing a scene. Great posts - must spread! :)

Keep them coming - I am holding the fort while my wife is away this week, so I need to live vicariously thru you - in the midst of cooking, laundry, packing school lunches, pup-walking, office stuff...

Alright, got the OK from a shop owner here in St. Paul to let me throw this up on here, and I'm gonna do a write up for him as well.

The store is called Black Blue, and the owner is Steve Kang. Black Blue has been open for just over a year. I didn't hear about it until a local magazine named it the best mens shop in the Twin Cities, so I had to check it out. This place is a gold mine, and he provides a very diverse assortment of products ranging from shoes, to Redwing boots, Pendleton shirts and jackets, Filson jackets and luggage, Duluth Pack, Barbour (i'm really considering getting a roadmaster waxed jacket..., Shades of Grey, A.P.C jeans and clothing, as well as some well priced basic T shirts and hoodies from Alternative Earth and many, many more items which are constantly being updated. Here is a look at the store, which is a great take on urban style. I love the books attached to the walls supporting the shoes and shirts, as well as the deer head on the wall, giving the shop ties to the roots which its merchandise emulate, the modern northern style present in these pieces. Everything in the store is perfectly applicable to Minnesota, wool, flannel, rugged footwear, and great layering pieces all function well in the dead of a Minnesota winter. Thanks Steve for talking with me, look forward to networking doing business with you in the future...

You can check out the blog here..http://www.blkblu.com

if any of you are ever in the Twin Cities, it is a must see. Rare for us to have this quality clothing in the cities.
