To those of you who have been PMing me regarding the TUFTSM▲NI▲ Doritos cases, they are now super-super sold out.

last production list has been completed and will be mailed this week. this is gonna be it for a while until my new shipment of hardware comes in.

i will not be taking a waitlist until then but perhaps I will start a FS thread in the meantime.

Different uses, redundancy to cover all bases in case of emergency, etc.

I was working on a little project in a group and we needed to start cutting stuff like cardboard, we got the job done a lot faster when i lent other people my knives (i had 3)

another time during a power outage i lent out my flashights to unprepared friends so i only had 1 left on me

sure enough the light died on me (nitecore ezcr2) so i had to shower in the dark, using my macbook's screen's light to inadequately light up the bathroom

never again...

Why in the hey do y'all carry so many knives every day? 1's not good nuff? I'm down with having a good knife around all the time but 3's a little overkill no?

I always like to have a backup. I carry the multi-tool around more-so for the tools, the blade on it is just a bonus.

Says the du who preps fried chicken and biscuits with an assisted knife

doesn't mean i carry more than one light all the time, in fact right now i only have my keychain light

only knife i have is a little victorinox moneyclip

i don't carry much anymore personally because i'm bored of my gear but it doesn't mean it's a BAD idea to have more than one if you feel like it

Dude, 3 flashlights and three knives? You either rock Mary Poppin's bag or the most ridonkulous pocket bulges on earth.

neither. you're assuming i carry large gear -- why would I do that? for EDC I try to minimize bulk and maximize utility.

a knife fits in the wallet (notice no bulging, it's card-thin), a knife is a bonus on the keychain, another knife is smaller than a pen:

and it just looks like this:

no bulge, not even fades, because everything is in a slim pen form factor.

my keychain is actually fairly minimalist compared to most keychains, except i concede that i could do with a smaller light. i just like flashlights so that's why i have it, it can push 200+ lumens when i need it.

if anything i'm just trying to dispel misconceptions that utility needs to be bulky. a well thought out EDC is supposed to kinda "disappear" until you need it. :)

EDIT: not to mention the wallet itself is an average size, unlike a lot of the popular leather goods people use around here which are so large they might cause spine complications. :( it's all preference though.

I've carried 4 blades before, so what. Unless I tell people what I'm carrying, they have no idea except for my leatherman on my belt, and that's in a leather case. I'll carry 2 lights at most, although if I had a preon or something i could easily carry 3.

Girl knocked my S&W pen out of my pocket last night at a pen cuz she was feelin up on my leg, oh yeah, and it fell on the floor. Found it in 5 seconds thanks to my ex10.

For those interested in serious EDC you may want to check out the newest Werner Herzog Documentary. He goes to Antarctica to check out the people who work there. About half way through he talks to a mechanic who escaped the iron curtain. The man almost cries as he remembers what he went through and then shows off his edc... a 20 kilo go bag all kinds of stuff in it including an inflatable raft and collapsible kayak paddle. Very cool.

this documentary is off the chain
