Should raw denim have done all its shrinking by 40 degrees C?

if it is actually washed in a machine at 40 C i think it would have shrunk most of the way. you might have to wash it twice. it might still lose an inch in length, a little in the waist but not much. It'd be close I think.

you put it on low dry for an hour i guarantee it will have done all of it's shrinking.

pretty much, yes. they will still shrink if you wash them at a higher temperature, but I believe a 40C wash/soak is what you're supposed to give japanese jeans to get the right size out of them.

Right, i was thinking maybe i should have put them in at 50 or soemthing. i would say they have lost an inch on the waist and maybe 1.5 on the lg, but they are still baggy around thigh/arse area so want them to shrink a bit more. They are not fully dry yet though, so im keeping my fingers crossed!
