J. Crew: Levi's 501 XX Slim Fit Selvedge

Couldn't post in supershopper but figured this was worth showing. J. Crew now stocks a 1947 levi's 501 in dark rinse. Anybody familiar with this denim from JC, is it the same as the lvc 1947?

Does its say "…its still made in the USA" and then it says "import"?

Does J. Crew mean made in the US from imported fabric?

Why are there bar tacks and no hidden rivets?

Why are the front rivets dome rivets?

Cliffnote: JCrew takes Levi's 501 in "Premium Wash" selvage Shrink To Fits (Selvage, Made in mexico, bar tacks, not chainstitched, horrid "leather patch"), distresses it and sells it for much more than its worth (last I checked, these went on sale for $50 bucks at Levis store Chicago and elsewhere, and ful retail was $98). Levi's couldn't give these away fast enough.

These aren't LVC. The fit is no where near the iconic 1947 cut either. Shitty fabric, shitty cut.

As everybody said, they're not LVC and they really suck, just like the crappy 1947 limited edition sold at Levi's stores sucked.

But there has been admiration for the no socks, shortie, 50s look. But it need to be rocked with a proper chainstitched hem, obviously, and maybe with the right-sized shoes.
