i got my raw dukes, but they are pretty long...how much would they shrink after the 1st wash?

should i cold soak them?

they'll shrink a couple inches when you wash them. if you cold soak them they might shrink an inch.

how tall are you? you might need to get them hemmed, but you need to take the shrinking into account. you could end up with jeans 2" or 3" too short if you don't.

i soaked them for about an hour but they are still wet, so i dont know how much they have shrank. i am 5'10" and they measure 36.5" before soaking. i will probably get them hemmed to 34 or something...

Got my washed Black Dukes today. As advertised, they are fantastic. They are however, pretty darn tight on me, so I am gonna try to stretch em out before posting any photos.

Anybody else's stretch? I tried to buy them slightly tight so they would stretch, but I am afraid I got em too tight...

Did you listen to the sizing suggestion from info?

Also why would you buy them so they'd stretch, aren't they prewashed?

They'll stretch eventually. They might not be comfortable, but if you can get them on, they'll stretch.

handlethevibe - in my experience, you should buy jeans slightly tight so they should stretch, unless you want em big. INFO didn't offer me any sizing suggestions.

Yeah, with dry denim. But with prewashed its pointless cause you can wash them as much as you want.

My washed imperials were a chore to do up when i first got them, now they have stetched out nicely.

So if thats anything to go by then as long as you can do them up they should be fine.

handlethevibe - thanks, I agree. I buy dry denim super tight and washed less tight but real fitted. Everyone wears jeans differently. whats been your experience with imperials?

wits not to sure about the deal with washed jeans but on their site they say to buy as tight as you can stand.

i was hurting for a few days so stick with it

i just got a pair of kings from my store in perth. i tried on both models, and found that both models in 34 were the right size for me. i found the dukes to be too skinny for me, but then again im a big guy. The kings have a wider leg than the dukes, but the differences werent that noticeable. i found the denim to be a bit lighter than what i expected, but not much to complain about. i bought them for 265 AUD. this must be one of the best value selvage jeans that i could get in perth, the only real alternative was a pair of RRDS for 375 AUD. hands down winner in my opinion

ok, I found out that they're $275 CDN at Nomad.

Got my Dukes back in November so they're wearing in nicely, and now the rivet on the left pocket has popped and the stitching's coming undone... gutted.

Got to decide whether to get in touch with Imperial who will no doubt send another pair which will need wearing in again, or try and repair them myself.

mr g, I had a similar problem with my nudies, one of the smaller buttons fell off. I just took it to an alterations shop in town and they knew what to do.
