Painting / customizing your shoes?

Has anyone tried doing this before? I'm considering it, and worrying about paint cracking, etc.. or whether a varnish on top would stop the problem.

Thinking about painting a lacquer-based colour-shifting paint along some of the stripes of an all-white Adidas superstar sneaker.

Theres a pairr of cons im doing atm,

Canvas shoes liek these, ive had for years with drawings on them, been through numerous washes, and the ink stays in..

Leather shoes liek the superstars or dunks etc, will require a finish of some kind. Thhe laquer based colour shifiting paint you speak of sounds alright, also spray some "spray-varnish" or clear laquer over the top of them once theyre done.. shouldnt be too bad at all

Will paint have any problem with cracking when the leather flexes?

I was thinking about using a varnish such as Krylon crystal clear, etc.

you can buy kits that take off your old finish, has paint to paint new shit, and has a new finish.

if you wanna customize, get angelus paint and acetone.... get a cotton ball and rub around the parts you wanna paint until the grey stuff goes off then paint with angelus..
