Anyway to tell the age of my lace up vans?

Found a brand new pair at a local thrift shop and they are easily my favourite pair of shoes (even out of all my damn nikes) Im assuming they are vintage but would love to know if they in fact are

on the vans website, the retros are called the authentic

btw, code inside of each shoe reads 105503-2 with a 9 over the dash

hmmm, 03, maybe 2003 production date? The insole is strange, its canvas with a vinyl heel.

Yeah they could just be "new" vintage. All I wear are authentic vans, but they are all new. I mean newer then anything considered vintage.

Im currently working on my masters in molecular biology, and i have access to carbon dating equipment. I did the lab work last night, and this morning i found out that the shoes are 21 years old

those look like real early 90's to me based on the laces and leather details, similar to what they were doing w/chukka's at the time

Thoes are amazing. that is how Trovata should have made theirs. Just like that. Throw in one of thier patterened linings and some turquoise stiching. That would be awesome. I want a pair.

Early 90's is right. The Vans logo on the heel is white, made in the U.S.A.

Once they moved production to China the heel logo went off the wall red.

Unless you're rocking Vaults or Syndicates... But those are Chinese too.

Still. Era's and Authentics are the only thing I really rock. Maybe throw in some PF Flyers or some Nike FC's every once in awhile.
