I'm gonna turn a bunch of my busted Unqilo chino's into shorts in a month or so. taper the thigh a bit and make sure they don't look poofy in the back. Should be an interesting project.

For the conscious peasant you can always go with J Crew or Gap. They are about the same in regards to quality, but gap tends to have more sales. They come in a cut that either drops above or below the knee.

my favorite pair of shorts from last summer was from uniqlo. Seersucker style. i hope they make it again this year.

I tried on a pair of shipley cropped and rolled shorts at a co op and they looked good. They sat way above the knee, would have bought if it wasn't black.
