Songbird Media Player

Just recently downloaded Songbird Media Player. It's an open source media player that feels a lot like iTunes. It also contains a web browser and tools to download songs from the artists that you are currently listening to. It also has The Hype Machine integrated into the software. Check it out.

How does it handle, I've always wondered. I'm a little worried about it since it's only V.0.5.

runs better than iTunes. sometimes I click to open iTunes and it wont pop up for longer than a minute.

no it has nothing to do with my computer. iTunes gets fucked sometimes. it's not due to a lack of ram or anything it just simply wont open on occasion because of the library size.

Songbird can get less reliable than iTunes at times. I've had a couple instances where it would crash while loading up. Kind of a hassle if you upload your songs manually to your device. If I remember correctly, with iTunes I could just drag and drop directly to the iTunes library - with Songbird you're going to have to add to the library then move to device.

Songs will also upload duplicates, so you'll need to clear out (or remember what you've uploaded) your library each time you update.

i remember seeing this almost 2 years ago when there wasnt even a usable version yet. but im gonna wait until 1.0 comes out before downloading it cuz theres probably so much missing compared to itunes
