I just hope Walt doesn't go to prison. That would be the most disappointing end I could imagine.

That seems plausible. To me it seems like they haven't been heavily deterring viewers from dealing with meth like they did in the earlier seasons, but I do think it's still Gilligan's intent. Murdering his brother in law would surely make Walt (and all of us in turn) realise how much he fucked up down the path, without being a stupid cop out like him getting arrested.

well this show is full of misdirection so i think it was only appropriate that after all that build-up, the moment that we've been waiting the whole season for happens in a bathroom while hank is taking a dump
