Thanks for the kind words guys. I haven't done a large project for myself in a long time, so I decided I should do it at least decently this time.

Yeah it would have been great if the concho did not have those colored inlays. I saw it while I was in the middle of making the wallet, and sort of bought it on impulse as it complemented the marijuana leaf symbols that I had been using on my own stuff recently.

To be honest the decorative stitching on the front could have been better. I screwed up the bottom curve a bit.

I use veg tanned from Wickett and Craig. Great tannery, nice leather, awesome service.

I decided to have a maker's stamp - or rather two - made - and I can't say, I have had any regrets

Been doing a little tooling lately, its super fun, but also super hard. I have been inheriting old leather tools from random old dudes who did it in the 70s and stuff, and ended up with a bunch of stamps. I have tons of respect for those who have mastered this art form. A friend of mine wanted a card holder for her business cards, so this is my first actual tooled piece. I would like to get a little more contrast (the picture actually makes it look like it has LESS contrast than in real life) by dying the back round but I don't really understand the process, gonna have to crack open leatherworker.net for some knowledge.

Given as a gift...

^Like JAW mentioned above leatherworker.net is a great resource for finding leather, hardware, and criticism. I've only ordered from Springfield and Maverick but they've great selections and Mav has a few Horween leathers stocked.
