Hey Guys,

Here’s my latest stuff – a couple of wallets! The 1st is a simple bifold constructed with a natural cow hide interior and an awesome piece of Horween #93 Buccaneer for the exterior, with bright blue stitching for a nice contrast.

The 2nd wallet is a bit more involved and should work great for the person who prefers a larger wallet, but not too thick. It’s made from pebble-grain buffalo that’s been turned out (rough-out) with brown horsehide for the boarder trim, with a contrasting gold stitch. This one also has a natural leather interior with 4 card slots on the right and one receipt/bill pocket on the left. There is also a nice deep pocket between the interior and the exterior for even more cash to be stored! I think this one would pair fantastically with a nice pair of White’s Red Dog rough-out oxfords or boots - That’s why I built it!

My cousin, a Brooklyn native, called me up and asked me to design a piece for him. He is a singer/songwriter (The Reverend John Delore), and wanted an “as small as possible†wallet/notebook that he could carry with him at all times so when inspiration strikes, he's ready.

He named it “The Park Sloperâ€, after his neighborhood, and it is a micro notebook and wallet in one. It uses the smallest size Moleskine Volant notebooks (2.5â€x4â€), and the pen slot is sized for a Fischer Space Pen Stowaway. I liked the design so much, I carry it now too. Pretty sweet to always have a pen and paper handy.

Craft on, crafties.

That's what I like to see onestar- nice original design work. I'd move the stitching in a little bit, it'll lay much nicer on the leather you're using and give you smoother edges. Also, look into a black edge kote for the black, you're teetering on some serious tech status there. Expand your pen carrier with cutout into multiple pieces and you've got a killer tech/heritage concept, really nice.

One thing- get a custom punch for your pen cutout ($60-80 investment) and shape it uniquely to be a signature across many products. It would be perfect every time and also save you a lot of man hours, I know those tiny cutouts are a pain in the ass.

Blackgoat- killer come back dude, hope you had a good summer! Looking great, that perf. leather is crazy!

Bang. Hit the nail on the thread head. Royalwood it is. They are very nice to deal with. The color swatch on that page you've linked to shows all the colors and thicknesses really well. I use their 4 ply and their 7 ply, although I wish they had a 5 or 6--the 4 sometimes is just a hair too thin. The spools in my photo are the 4 ply.

thread mini review: Love it. Not to waxy, threads easily, cool color selection - the aforementioned 5-6 ply size missing is my only gripe. 4-ply works great for finer work and the 7 ply is nice n meaty.

Thanks corter. Yeah, I've been toying with the black edges or not. I think with the murdered out black thread, it would be nice. Although I just did a black one with natural stitching and i think i prefer the contrasting stitching look, and the brown edges are more passable with that.

And yeah, I'm definitely in the market for a custom punch. PITA is right. I have a couple places I'm looking at, but do people have recommendations for a custom punch? Businesses they'd like to support?

I have a "Park Sloper, Sr." as well, just a larger design following the same idea for the person who wants a larger notebook with the same functionality. Here it is. Though the next one will have deeper card pockets...

carry on.

after a little digging, and knowing that onestar only uses irish linen.... this might be it:

http://www.royalwood.../cat14-17ar.htm

the spools he's showing look to be about the right size too.

if i'm totally wrong, onestar, please let me know.

also, do you mind giving a mini review on the thread? how waxy is it?

wicked smaht. might work! there is not a lot of space in there, but i love the idea of a pocket for those little annoying keychain grocery cards. I appreciate your thoughts!

Nice dude. You could open up that square section in the middle to hold SD cards or even make it a bit wider to hold those keychain sized store savings cards, that'd be pretty rad.

A big hat-tip to Hollows for the fantastic natural chromexcel watch strap (for an IWC Mark XV) and belt. I'm so matchy-matchy now - the OCD voices in my head have finally quieted down a bit.

Lovely strap. You do however know that you've got it on backwards, right? Buckles go to the top.

That olive chromexcel is impossible to photograph.

Man, so tough. I'll see if I can get some better pics in the next day or two. It's even tough to tell the color with your eyes - in one light at one angle it's olive, another it's brown. I really love it though so the fight goes on.

Hey Guys,

Here’s a few things I completed over the weekend. The belt, keychain and wallet are for a friend, and I liked the Latigo leather I used for the belt so much that I built a new collar for “Killerâ€, my Miniature Dachshund! And just so no one gets jealous, I took a couple of pics of my prize-winning “Biscuit Houndâ€, Dottie Leigh as well. She’s currently sporting a bright orange hunting dog collar, but I’ll build her a new collar out of the same leather soon.

I also took the opportunity to get a few pics of the belt with my Wolverine 1000 Mile and Vasque Sundowner boots to get an idea of how the red Latigo leather would match. It’s not an exact match on either, but close enough, IMO. The wallet is made from some reddish/orange Horween leather and stitched with a matching color thread. Oh yeah, the last pic is of the belt keeper – I always stitch my keepers for a bit of added strength. Thanks for looking!
