i personally prefer things to be a bit dilapidated... i find that cities that are too clean, too well taken care of, or too shiny, give off a very cold and clinical feel. they dont look as i they have been lived in, they just seem like ghost towns that were only recently re-inhabited.

backstory: we got kicked out because people in the hostel rooms were complaining and calling the front desk. the guy in front tells us that there is an all-night bar open at 18th and mission, so we start walking.

but, before we start walking, i steal his tip jar contents. woot woot, 11 bones.

we cant find anything on 18th and mission but, we see some human activity not too far off and wander over to it. lo and behold, it is a porn shop. and all the people in front are crackwhores and potential johns, feeling each other out.

we go into the porn shop, browse their dildo selection, someone complains that 'theyre all so small', and this photo was then snapped...

this was right when we found a copy of "yummy fat taco booty" part 5 and were confused because there were no hispanic women in it.

dejected, we all headed back to the hostel for naptime.

you forgot the part where i had a parking ticket chillin on my car when i went back.

My friend got a $150 ticket the other day in Manhattan. I told him to take the subway, but he's gotten into the habit of driving down and still isn't familiar with where he can and can not park.

Just so you know.. the photos you're seeing are almost ALL exclusively taken in the Mission District, where Self Edge is located.

It's known for it's food, liquor, bums, charm, and one Denim Store, not for it's cleanliness.

Personally i love it, but i can totally see how others having not spent much time in SF would be turned off by seeing the wrong photos..
