I bought that magazine, but I can't read japanese so just enjoyed pictures.

So I didn't understand about the contents.

It's really interesting 'no.3' that you've noticed.

I think that too often washed jeans can't make beautiful fade.

I checked out Japan Centre in London, but they don't carry Lighting... so they dont have it, and wont be getting it.

If Seattle people are looking, kinokuniya didn't have any of the Denim Indigo Master when I was there this week. They did have denim style book #1 and #2 though. Plus the staff is really helpful (three or four people were wandering around trying to help me)

okay, but few things i do recognize from these pics that might be relevant to the mag:

mr. flathead himself, mr. kobayashi

these were the lightning magazine staff members

and these two guys are featured in some of the latest lightning mags making their own jeans

nogami-san, the shogun of the samurais

well, here's some of what i was talking about:

on page 242, there's a pair of omnigods, worn almost everyday for seven years and washed almost every day. here's a closesup:

there's more. page 221. flathead 3005xx, worn 4-5 years, washed once a week with a washing machine:

and pg 232. studio d'artisan sd-001, worn 5 years, washed twice a month in washing machines with detergents:

and also pg 241. uniqlo worn for about one year, washed almost every day. and the owner is a first-grader:

this kid says none of his friends are wearing denim. what a stud.

hungry, i think evisu is one of lightning magazines major sponsor, as well as toyo enterprise and flathead. so that could be the reason behind those pages. but to give them all credits, none of them are no ordinary stuff.

i can't go about translating everything, but i'll just tell you what this one says, since i had a closeup:

A. ichiro kohno / B. self-employed / C. omnigod / D. 7 years / E. color fade, beautiful silhouette. i own many others but i end up wearing just these / F. every day / G. every day / H. denime, omnigod / I. nothing in particular
