There's the best pic I could muster. I don't think they look like clown shoes, and have never had anyone tell me that so I assume they look fine.

Cons look stupid on my feet, but Common Projects still have nice proportions in the bigger sizes.

I am impressed with my CP's they might be my most comfortable shoe right now, I can walk forever in them

These strongly enforce my opinion that, for $300, you can find a much better chukka. Pretty ugly.
