I'm guessing wireless than change the batteries, keep the keyboard off and restart the computer. Turn the keyboard on after the computer starts.

upgrade or clean install?

I upgraded my powerbook12 inch and it hung once in a while and had trouble resuming from sleep, and finally said fuck it and did a clean install and all my problems went away.

no, I found out its a common problem with leopard. I did a quick fix and am really hoping it doesn't come back. Heads are saying it has something to do with timemachine.

I dont really care whether im using OSX or Windows as theyre both really just platforms that run the same applications. But the Macbook Pro is probably the nicest 15" laptop that money can buy right now.

i got the new leopard b/c of the cool new background. but seriously, office 2004 for macs seem to run slower on macs than on pcs (esp. powerpoint when im switching between languages). And I really like the Opera browser (mainly b/c of the quick back/forward function with right/left click combo), but this as well seem to run slower. any suggestions?

Office 2004 is not universal binary... this matters if you're on intel procs only.

macs were always powerpc until recently they changed to intel

meaning some examples of software created for the mac when it ran on powerpc architecture may not work with the newer systems..

as far as this thread goes, i'd take a pc over a mac anyday. I laugh at the people who think owning a pc is for accountants..
