Greetings Super Denim posters,

I am a longtime lurker of this forum, and in a way I am a longtime fan. I think some of the most enthusiastic and in the same respect “crazy†people that go way over the top in regards to denim choices from around the planet post on this forum. Over time I’ve noticed that really regardless of how many times one specific person will continually justify themselves in regards their denim brand choices there will always be disagreement. Different denim for different people. Around two years ago I got introduced to the idea of high quality denim, and ever since then I have found myself throwing away countless pairs of jeans that sucked or were the wrong size initially. For the past year or so I’ve been breaking in a pair of Nudies, and they’ve easily become my favorite pair of jeans. On this forum Nudie’s aren’t very popular; many people consider them the mainstream brand of raw denim that often initiates people into the denim junkie scene. I know many of the posters here have much more experience and knowledge with high quality denim than I have, and I want your advice. Put aside all the grievances comparing differing types of denim, and give a straight and honest answer of what YOU like. The best way to learn about anything is to learn from people with experience, and that is exactly why I am here. I want you to help me pick my next pair of jeans that I am going to devote a year to.

For each recommendation simply state:

-The Brand

-Your favorite cut/fit

-Why you like them

-Cost/Where to buy

-Any additional tips like sizing or care related to the specific brand

I’m really interested Dior Homme, Imperial, Sugar Cane, Samurai, and maybe even APC (although I hear they tend not to last) but really have no advanced knowledge of any of the brands.

I’m a fairly skinny guy, 6’0’’ 145 lbs, I leave near San Francisco and I’m willing to spend up to about 300-350 dollars. I am your guinea pig; help me pick a pair of jeans that will blow me away and get me addicted to denim.

Thanks in advance guys, I love the community here. I hope this thread will serve as a tool to convince people other than myself to try a completely new type of denim.

If you're a longtime lurker...you could have just read through a few of the threads (how jeans fit/evo/this or that/small ?'s/denim encyclopedia/waywt's/etc...) and by now, gotten a pretty good grasp of what you want or are looking for.

Will be a lot faster than just starting a brand new thread asking for special treatment. No hate, but most likely around here, you'll probably just get e-feces flung at you. With a heavy side plate of e-sarcasm, as you have already sampled from the replies above...

also, if you're a long time lurker, you might have noticed that these types of posts/threads never get very positive responses. If you are looking for something that is slimish, an intermediate between the skinny jeans you've been wearing, and a lot of the looser cuts, i'd try a '66 cut. a lot of companies make them. studio d'artisan's 103 is pretty popular. it's one of my favorite cuts.
