so its fucking shit 2 years old slow as fuck and I'm fucking sick of it as of now. If it didn't have my iTunes crap synced on of I swear I'd smash the fucking who're with a hammer.

I'm never getting anything windows ever again so I guess iteans apple. The new apple op syst is droping tommorw and i heard there is a new mac book pro also dropin with it or soon.

I dont own an apple computer but i want it to have the max ampunt of ram possible and the max ampunt of hard drive space avlb. Also do any portable hard drives work with macs? I'll be im need of something mac compatable that can hold up to at least 500gigs. Multiple hd's might have tp be an option.

by the time it took me to write the ^ above post on my iphone is how long it took me to open up internet explorer on my sony vaio and write this reply. see how fucking slow this shitty computer is? its fucking disgusting. which brings me to another thing that pisses me off about the iphone: how the hell do you turn off the word speller corrector thing when writing on the iphone? it wont let me write vaio instead it put "vail" and it wont let me abreviate some things. i cant talk all internet street slang lingo on it. its getting annoying. thnx.

I'm in the same situation. Got a 2 years old Vaio that I'm ready to throw out the window. I'm thinking about getting a mac too. Sombdy know when the new mac book pro drops ?

The current MBPro's use a very recently-revised Intel Core2 Duo chip so if you wait awhile for the new one to drop it's really not going to be very different in terms of performance.

Me too. The battery exploded, my vaio's like a shitty desktop now. They guy wouldn't sell me a new one, he told me to just keep it plugged in at all times. now, 15" or 17"?

If you're gonna use it outside of your home -> 15"

If you're only gonna use it on your lap in front of the TV -> 17"

NOTE: IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING APPLECARE...

don't buy it now. the reasoning is you can get it cheaper by purchasing it later with your student discount. don't freak out...you've got up to 1 year from the date of purchase to add apple care on, which i would highly recommend

im sure the main reason your laptop has slowed down horribly over 2 years is because you touch yourself to generous amounts of internet pornography on fishy sites on a near daily basis

Yeah the spamware and viruses on my powerbook have been bogging it down lately.

pffffffffffffft pussies. My old Dell sucked ass so much that, first, the charger wire broke and started sparking. Electric tape! But then the pin in the charging port broke and was mad loose. Charging it meant getting the wire in a specific position that it stopped sparking AND was just right with the pin, very hard. So I had to just hold it while I used it until the sparking got bad or it just was not getting any power.

now I'm on a cheap $200 laptop from best buy or something. Definitely getting an iMac next.

sony laptops suck that was your FIRST mistake

and as much as i like the aeshetic of apple i dont think i can convert when it comes to a laptop or desktop

all my apps are windows-based

i enjoy playing games, and i dont really like MacOS/cramped keyboard/one-mouse button etc

sure some of u say why dont u dual boot, well that defeats the point if im using it in pc mode

Exactly. Why pay the Apple tax (especially now that they use x86 based hardware) if you're not running OSX?

If there was a tax for having to not use Windows, I'd gladly pay it... but not sure where you are going about with the extra Apple tax. Obviously this is getting into a pc vs. mac fanboy debate... but many PC manufacturers do a lot of advertising to purport a great price value...

Adding some stuff to spec I have noticed minimal price differences, but that's just me.

Although I wouldnt say a thousand bucks is a minimal price difference for say mac book pro vs a similarly spec'd hp or dell. And the rape price of apple care.

I rather pay the extra and get a macbook pro just for the fact that you get reliable, well designed machine, that runs osx, windows, and linux well.

If you want to play games, get a xbox 360 or ps3, you can use mouse and keyboards for your fps games on either and you dont have to deal with drivers, patches, and upgrading video cards.
