I've only seen the selvage jeans in person on a friend, they looked great. I'm psyched to see what the other stuff is like. I'm hoping better basics than and less "fashion-y" than h&m, and not so "gap".

Are you sure? The site doesn't say anything about Labor Day weekend.

I did some research to figure out how the hell to get to these places, and the closest any of these malls are to a train station is about 1.5 miles. What are they thinking?!

maybe you can try jtb or amnet for a shuttle tour bus to these malls. I know they do that for japanese ex pats that dont drive.
