Silly question - Sending payment info

Is it safe to send credit card info to a store by e-mail? I think I remember hearing that it's just as safe as sending it via wireless or cordless phone.

Well generally it is not safe at all. Unless you know how to encrypt email properly, do not send any credit card details this way! Its unlikely that an email would be intercepted but it is certainly possible. Personally I'd question the reputability of a store that requires card details to be sent this via email anyway.

check with your credit card company whether they guarantee for online purchases. the big ones usually do, i.e. visa, amex.

Most stores will have you e-mail them all your order info, but have you call them to give them your credit card number.
