Posted about this over at SF,

These guys have a couple of cool looking frames, (venice W2)

http://www.otticacarraro.it/eng/ and it seems the price is pretty good...

Have these at the moment http://www.theyedoctor.com/products/_cid_10001-pid_35945__product.aspx, but I'm kinda looking for a squarish horn-rim type of frame with a larger lense (vertically), although I'm not so sure about ordering online without trying them on...

jimmyc: thanks for the post, these look pretty good, might give them a try,

If you don't mind my asking what's the quality like (hinges, material etc.) on your moscots?

i got transitions lenses fitted in my frames. here's a pic when exposed to UV light (gets darker than this at maximum UV). first time trying these out... hope i like them!

i just don't want to be one of those guys that walks around indoors with shades on. supposedly they fade pretty fast. will test them out outdoors today!

anyone else have any experience with transitions lenses??

(i remember in high school, only the dorks had these...)

I personally think that Transitions aren't always practical because I like seeing colors in their true state, so I usually leave my sunglasses at home. Also, I think that eyeglasses and sunglasses have different styles that look good, and you can't really switch in between both without having somewhat large frames.

However, those clear frames are hot, so whatever. ^_~ Did you get them at your optometrist or online?

We don't advise to go with transition lenses - they are lame, expensive and to boot they just don't work.

And if you really think about it, the whole concept is bordering on ridiculous. Why would you want to compromise an opportunity to own a killer pair of shades?

I wouldn't go as far to say that they're ridiculous, because some people who don't care so much about looks would think they're very convenient. However, I would definitely agree that I'd rather have a nice pair of eyeglasses and a nice pair of shades over an expensive pair of whatever you'd call the frames with the Transitions lenses.
