I think FTB is frustrated with the hating which he feels doesn't deserve and he can do nothing about. He certainly doesn't deserve it. I like his posts, they're thought-out, articulate and informative. It's so easy to hate around here, but rare to read posts that make sense or tries to be constructive without putting the subject down. FTB's persona aside, posts like his and others like his get buried under all the hating around here. The signal to noise ratio is abysmal but you guys seem to be used to and enjoy it.

I don't post often, but have been her for some time, SF has changed drastically from the time I joined, so has the world. I liked it better two years ago as it was more knowledge directed in denim at least, and somewhat less hostile. On the other hand I now find it entertaining. I still enjoy being here but my expectations are entirely different. Embrace the old and watch the new, take what is relevent to you and leave the rest. I love the banter and really that is all it is. No need to take it close to the heart, it is only a forum.

At the end of the day it is just SF and tossed ideas, good ones and bad ones, nothing to get your panties in a bunch over.

its much harder to get recognition by writing something intelligent, thought-out and mature. you can still be straight forward about shit, I think onemancult does it pretty well, a lot of other (mostly relatively new users) don't. its much easier to make hell of a lot of noise without really saying anything meaningful.
