Pure BLue Japan XX-003???

so after seeing headtowall's pbj's i am considering them to be my next pair. I was looking around at the pbj site and came to the conclusion that the xx-003 model would be mmy best choice. But i still don't really know anything about them seeing as though i couldn't read much. couldn't find much on the 003 model on here. does anyone know or having any experience with the xx-003 model?

the only jeans i have right now are lvc '47....i wear a 32 waist if that matters. i like my jeans somewhat relaxed fitting but not baggy. just not tight....

recomendations? advice?

I have the PBJ xx-003, and it fits much slimmer in the thighs and crotch than than my SC 47. I sized down one, but I kinda wish I would have bought my true waist because the 003 is pretty tight in the crotch. From the mid thigh downward, however, it fits nearly identical to a 47 cut. I would say order your true waist size and you will be fine.

Yeah, buy your true waist. I did and they fit great.

I bought my true size, and they're perfect. In raw lvc47 I had to size up 2 sizes and they shrank 2 sizes down after a 1 hour soak.

With the new leaf design the xx-003 will look very nice (I have the older model with the blue tab).

Also, make sure you've seen denim this slubby in person. Most people like it but some prefer non slubby denim (In that case go for the xx-006).

could anyone recomend me a spot i could hit up around LA that carries the pbj xx-003 as well as other models i guess. i really want to see these in person. from the pics i've seen around they look amazing to me. but like you said chipopo i should probably still see them in person before making a decision

I'm pretty sure that only BiG carries them in the US.

Just buy them and return them if you don't like them You'll be stuck with store credit, but BiG has enough stuff that the credit wont go to waste.

BiG doesn't have the xx-003!!!!!

check out the xx-007 though, those aren't looking bad at all

Nowhere else in the states. Bears and I think the PBJ website, but you'd need a proxy for either of those. I'd contact BiG and see what they can do for you.

I've heard the fit is the same as the AI-001, if that's the case, you could look for my AI-001 pics. I've posted a few here and there.

after some quick searching for your AI-001pics I also came saw that apparently the xx006, xx003, and ai-001 all have the same cut but different denim and found some fit pics of the 006 also.

but then I looked on BiG and compared the 006 measurements to the 003 measurements and they do not match... I also remember reading somewhere that the AI had a higher rise??

XX-006 and XX-003 use different denim, maybe the sizing is adjusted to account for differences in the amount of shrinking?

the 003 and 006 have a looser, 47-like cut. The 005 and 008 have a slimmer cut, probably closer to the s5000. The 003/005 have thicker, slubbier denim, the 006/008 have a lighter, vintage-inspired denim.
