lee japan 1937 cowboy

Recommended Posts

i have a pair of the 1937 Lee 101 cinchbacks

i love mine....they fit very nicely (if you like the classic 501 style of fit) and are a little roomy but not overly loose. Couldnt tell you much about wear since I like to keep them dark. Def one of my fave pairs of jeans.

They're great jeans. Made by Edwin. I think their sanforized denim comes from Nisshinbo. How's the shrinkage?

(I had some Lee reissues that were sanforized - then the later European reissues suddenly had normal fabric, but when I checked, I discovered the sanforized ones had eventually shrunk, more than 3%, too. )

just out of interest, how do the 50s version fit?

I have some 1944 lees and they're quite loose on me, compared to the 101y cowboy jeans which are more like 1947 501s.

I remember doing an online translation of a japanese site, and pretty much everything up to the 1950s lee repro was classed as loose fit straight leg, then everything after was regular leg

cheers

John
