Vintage or not, Help please

so, i found this old lee jacket in the attic of my house.

only clear branding is on the buttons which say lee riders

for some reason though the buttons on the cinch are plastic and not metal

under the flap of one of the top pockets there is a fairly washed out looking label and all i can make out is the numbers 1040201 in red (everything else is faded out)

theres no size label on it but i'm about a 48" chest and 6' 4" and it is about 1 size too small for me, also its pretty short in the body and in the sleeves (well, for me anyway)

can anyone tell me more about it

Given the plastic buttons, I think it's pre 70s. It would originally have had a tag saying 'Union Made' on the back of the neck, and these normally denote a vintage 101J. They don't fetch a massive amount tho, I think I paid $20 for mine.

any idea how old it is?

since it's in the attic, where nobody goes for centuries... it has a high chance of being vintage.

however, if your house is quite new, this is probably not the case.

house is about 120 years old

i've lived here for about 25 years, since i was about 10 years old (i bought it from my mother when she down sized)

dont think it was my dads....................denim jackets not his thing

i think i've established its a 101j

and from what i can tell its had 1 of the square red and gold tags which has been picked off at some point

but as for exact age its either 50's 60's or 70's

shame it doesn't fit cos i like it
