...so confused, but so good

so I picked up on some shit, wonder if anyone else did

- was that dead body that they found when they were first entering the temple/underground hole thing desmond? (the book the skeleton was holding that Hurley commented on was the same one that Des was reading on the plane no?)

- So the "alive" Locke is that dude who wanted to kill Ben from the flashback right? (the guy with the gray beard, in the black shirt) he mentioned a "loophole" does he also inhabit Jack's dads body??

- John mentions something to Jack when they are discussing his Fathers missing body, "they didn't lose your father, they lost his body"...does this have anything to do with what is going on????

what's happening??? jesus christ what a mindfuck

Some thoughts: (possible spoilers)

Smoke monster is the man in black that was talking to jacob, can shape shift and took the form of Alex to convince Ben to obey Locke. Then took form of Locke to convince ben to kill Jacob.

Importance that Desmond is reading Haroun and the Sea of Stories?

Sayid is jesus and can be seen in the form of Jesus on the cross when they carry him into the spring.

Charlie says "im supposed to die". Does he know or is it just a coincidence?

What is this fake Locke's home he wants to return to?

Why is he disappointed in the people?

OWNER OF VISVIM ON LOST

i think fake locke wants off island.

think he said he's disappointed to further manipulate the others on the beach.

yea they definitely made the jesus reference obvious, u think hurley brought him back to life? thought it was cool they revealed how lil ben was healed, i wonder why the water was dirty tho. you can tell they're setting up hurley to be the most powerful lostie. his tone and the way jack has just been listening to him.

i callllled richard being on the blackrock long time ago.

slave is interesting though, i thought he woulda been a captain or something.

also thought it was really cool how bram set up the ash ring around himself for protection.

LOLZ @ jack taking L's twice, drop kick from Sawyer. and akido takedown from Sanada Hiroyuki

LOL @ everyone forgetting about Sayid bleeding liters of blood in the van

Where did desmond go?

Why was Jack bleeding on the plane?

Why did the flight attendant have a much heavier accent on the plane?

So will the alternate reality and current reality will come together?

I thought the dirty water symbolized some kind of disturbance between the balance of good and evil. It happens after Jacob dies and the people talk about the risks it will have to try and revive sayid.

Why do the temple people want to keep fake Locke out of the temple? What's there that he wants?

My guess, smoke monster and jacob line up all the members, pick teams and have a season long game of capture the flag on the island.

temple people wanna keep fake locke out cause hes the smoke monster and will fuck them all up cause they're jacob's people.

that's why they're rushing to make that ash circle around the temple, to keep smoke monster/fake locke/man in black out

multiple universe theory, assuming they will collide.

Non crash universe is mimicking what happened when they first got on the island.

Sayid is now jacob reincarnated.

Fake Loche is Evil, feel like the apocalypse goes down if he makes it off the island and into the real world.

OR

what if this whole time Jacob is the evil one?

^^^ what billy said. Although I think that Jacob has the ability to leave the island, maybe through a portal at the temple, which is why those people are so protective of it.

Also interesting is what happens to Jacob's body when he dies; he just flat disappears which alt-Locke thinks is normal, but horrifies Ben

I like how Ben had been the master manipulator on the Island, getting people to do everything he wants and then Smoke Monster-dude shows up and fucks him up-royally Makes you wonder if Jacob and Ben were trying to do good along.

I also have been wondering if all hell will break loose since the Losties are now back in present time. Will it be like Donnie Darko, where the splintered alternate reality and the "present" have to be reconciled somehow?

How come Jack and Desmond didn't recognize each other when they meet because they recognized each other the first time they met in the hatch? And why is Des on the flight and where does he go? Is he time traveling and trying to influence the Losties? Did he take Christians body?

Sayid resurrected is interesting, will he be good or bad? He now has a connection to Ben that could lead somewhere.

Alt-Locke, says to Richard that he's glad to see him out of chains, literally or figuratively? Was Richard a slave on the Black Rock or was he enslaved to Jacob? Also, Richard now realizes who fake-Locke is when he emerges from the statue base, but doesn't before? And why is it that neither Jacob nor Richard defend themselves from attack?

Last note, I'm glad Juliet died, again. She really annoyed me. I hope Charlie will die again too.

yeah i think jacob's inhabiting sayid's body just like man in black is inhabiting locke's

dead juliet tells miles that it worked -- how does she know?

agreed with above, juliet annoyed me too, plus her relationship with sawyer just wasn't believable

my prediction is jack's gonna die, which he should, and kate ends up with saywer

also: the show will never be as good as it was during season 1 when it was all about the characters surviving on the island and everything was mysterious and robinson crusoe-ish

but, best brain-wrinkling moment ever is when jack is back in l.a., drunk and suicidal and listening to nirvana in his truck, and it's revealed that it's a flash forward and the episode ends with jack pleading to kate that they need to go back

i agree on both accounts. "we have to go back!" episode is the best ever.

and i think this is a problem with "final seasons" in general for shows like this. the answers can never be fully satisfying after all the build up and theorizing. plus, the development and anticipation is much more fun than the resolution.

i guess my main gripe on this season opener was maybe they revealed too much too soon. it got too wacky too fast. also, wtf with ignoring the bleeding sayid? wtf with the damn flight attendant being on the inside of this deal when she was never a vital part of any of this story ever? wtf with richard and those bodyguards sitting outside the temple pointing and talking forever when they know damn well there's an imposter in there with jacob the apparent pacifist? wtf with the real locke actually turning out to just be a total fail? i was hoping he would find redemption and "save us all" and fulfill his destiny and all that. but no. he's just dead. and jacob got to be alive for all of one episode while we had to endure juliet for way too long.

and how is it that the losties don't even really have a reaction anymore to their surroundings? "oh, so yeah we're in this temple now with these crazy looking people with a japanese leader and hurley has an ankh in his guitar case that he got from jacob with a secret msg in it and sayid is being drowned in front of us while we just sit still and where the fuck is claire hey lets just sit here quietly."

i guess i had a few complaints. but still, totally awesome...

yeah yeah totally agreed, but me going 'what the fuck, losties, do something' happened even earlier when jack, kate and hurley first showed up to dharmaville in the '70s. they just sort of were like 'ok, we're just going to live here and be janitors and mechanics and not be freaked out or try to hatch a plan or anything.'

also, agreed about locke and his being nothing more than a big fail. when not-locke describes locke's last few living moments was one of the best part's of last night show.

And why is it that neither Jacob nor Richard defend themselves from attack?

Taken from a DarkUFO theory...Richard doesn't fight back because the smoke monster would then be able to defend himself...? But then again, it attacked people in the past who didn't fight back...

"It was extremely significant that Locke gave Bram's team a choice before killing them. He explained that Jacob was dead, and presented their situation in a straightforward, logical way. They were basically free to go, at least up until Bram fired his gun. Once that happened, judgment could be passed. This is also why Richard is so adamant that no one on the beach shoot Locke, screaming for them to hold their fire when he finally emerges from the statue.

Going a bit further, this also explains why the smoke monster doesn't just kill anyone and everyone it comes across. We already know that the dark man disapproves of Jacob bringing people to the island. In keeping with the rules however, he seems unable to touch anyone unless he's judged them first, or unless they've wronged him in some way. Not sure how or why it killed Seth Norris or Nadine... but both of those characters had just arrived on the island so maybe there was a exception clause. Or maybe the smoke monster hadn't eaten in a while, and he was just plain hungry."

ok

No same person twice in the same dimension concept, so that's how they ended up on the right 'track'? right?

and temple dwellers have to be the Others or a faction at least, Cindy and the two kids??

and the book Hurley found on the French body was this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_and_Trembling

had to pause and advance by frame to see its title

Bomb going off in the past DID fix everything, but only for those in the alternative timeline created when the Losties joined Dharma in the past. The bomb sank the island (hence the island under water at the start) and they all lived to carry on their lives. However, that still left them carrying on as normal in the CURRENT timeline. The way for them to get off the island now is to die, Juliette was obviously experiencing the alternative timeline as she was dying.

I think Lost is setting up Jacob and Fake Locke as being these 2 ultimate good and evil Gods stuck in an eternal battle with each other. FLocke has managed (he thinks) to beat Jacob by bringing the Losties to the island to kill Jacob, but through this season we'll find out this isn't the case and Jacob will ultimately win and combine the 2 timelines.

why would jacob use sayid's body? couldn't he have used any other person's body who had died?

just doesn't make sense.

from another site

I think that MIB and Jacob picked their vessels well. MIB said that Locke was weak but he impressed him by being the only one not wanting to leave and realizing the power of the island, plus Locke was fed up with how he had been treated and that filled him with a rage. MIB saw what Locke was capable of, saw the potential. He would make for a fine vessel.

Sayid, on the other hand, was the opposite of Locke. A man of action with a heart filled with remorse. He was very good at what he did but also regretted what he had to do. He worried about what would happen to him if he died, all the people he had tortured, killed. He wanted redemption for the things he had done. Jacob saw his strength and his heart. He would make for an fine vessel.
