sometimes... when I masturbate, I like to turn on NPR... just to feel that much more cultured than the rest of L.A.

I always find myself telling people about the episode Mind Games... the segment about Improv Everywhere and their missions... pants on the bus, Starbucks loop, Ghosts of Pasha....

thank you, b i z z y! that was my favorite episode!! did you know they have an SF chapter of that improv group? anyone can join...but they don't do stuff nearly as crazy as the "ghosts of pasha" stunt...more like umbrellas in union square type of thing...

i love NPR, All Songs Considered is the shit.

hell yes...totally subscribed to that podcast. black keys at the 9:30 club...awesome set.

Bumping this as a couple of recent episodes of TAL were pretty fucking good.

The ghost of Bobby Dunbar (1 story, solid all the way through):

The audacity of Government:

(Jack Hitt's story about immigration law was particularly good/disturbing I thought)

Also, for hardcore fans, it looks like TAL is going to be doing a live broadcast thing in regular movie theaters, might be interesting, but Im out of the country otherwise Id probably go.

the npr building is pretty close to my house, i bike by it every day on my commute to and from work, one of my favorite episodes of TAL was about "loss," and it included this reading of these letters addressed to a deadbeat father from a single mom, 'cept the dad turned out to be this ex-punk who was a cook in japan now, and the mom wasn't bitter or anything, she understood she had his own shit to get together, she was just like "well, it would've been nice if you saw your kid's baseball game."

and yeah, if i'm ever up that early on a saturday "wait wait don't tell me" is my shit. also a fan of "fresh air" and "fair game" by faith salie... oh shit totally forgot about sunday nights when they air those old, old radio shows too... and don't get me started on the bluegrass overnight.
