-Monocle (big fan so far!),

-Cream

-A magazine (if it ever comes out again)

I really haven't been able to get excited by anything else since a couple of years now. I sometimes look through ID when I'm at a friends place but I wouldn't buy it.

And also firts hated Juxtapos then bought every issue for about half a year or so and now went back to hating it again.

seenmy: I just got bootcamp from Firmament this weekend and it's really nothing special in my humble opinion.

mass appeal's still around. its glory days were definitely during alife's stint at the creative helm. probably some of my favorite art/photo direction of the past 10 years. and all the lase projects. isn't that matty goias thing still in there? i haven't picked it up as much recently. i mean, who wants to read bobby hundred's column hating on this and that in LA.

i'd fork over $20 for bootcamp because of the content. i've only been able to get ahold of the 2nd issue (i will buy copies of issue 1 from anyone who has them). i don't care what they're trying to achieve with it, but it is cover-to-cover brick solid work from some great artists. i'm also a sucker for good print jobs, nice papers and off teh wall binding techniques. enter, bootcamp.

Grafik (especially since the redesign)

Print (on fire lately)

Carl's Cars

Amelia's Magazine (loved the feature on the guy that ties markers to tree branches to draw)

2wice (designed by Pentagram and is more of an art piece than a periodical)

Art Prostitute

Hamburger Eyes

Dead In The Dirt (which is now dead in the dirt, in fact)

Garage Magazine (plesantly surprised by this one... graffiti but a bit more intellecutal)

LIFESUCKSDIE (why did this have to end!?)

Most American style magazines are worth as much as the flimsy paper they are printed on--and as much style as the people on the covers, usually dodgy celebrities.

Italy's Vogue L'Uomo usually know what they are doing. Anna Piaggi's DP for Vogue Italia is always good.

Arena Homme Plus is usually pleasing.

The New Yorker after that boisterous feminist Tina Brown vulgarized it, is hardly witty or scathing. And the less said about the tacky Anna Wintour and her fly-over country, Zac Posen featuring, Vogue the better.

Others I read:

Classic Sportscar

Penworld

Citizen K France

V/V-Man

10 Magazine

MONOCLE (my new favorite)

Cabinet (weird and brilliant)

Wallpaper* (rarely)

Wired (occasionally)

Industry-related:

Vogues (Paris, Italy, UK, Japan, Australia)

ELLEs (French, Spanish, UK)

Numéro (France)

Citizen K (costs only €1.-)

…

+ There's a good Australian fashion magazine I picked up but forgot its name. It had a funny name.
